Ever since Gerald the Giraffe was born, he had always known what he wanted to be when he grew up.

An American taxi-driver.

At first, this might not seem like the ideal occupation for one of his... stature...
But nevertheless, here he is, on his first night of work.


'Drive to the docks, and be quick about it! I'm running late for an... appointment.' Said the man in the suit. He smelled of oranges and cigars.

'Appointment?' asked Gerald, quiveringly. 'In the middle of the night?'
He gave a nervous giggle, but stopped, when he realized the man wasn't going to answer.

Gerald first though the man was a musician. That much was clear by the violin-case he was carrying. His clothes strengthened this image. The two bags of cement he had thrown in the taxi's trunk, however, did not.

Trying not to look too often in the rear-view mirror, Gerald drove.

The docks, thankfully, weren't far off. But to try and shake his nervousness,
Gerald decided a little conversation wouldn't hurt.

'So, eh... what do you think of the weather?'

'...' 'Isn't so foggy where I come from...' Replied the man.

Five steering-wheel-gnawing minutes later, they finally reached their destination. Where, with much hardship, the man, who in close proximity smelled like an entire orange plantation, squeezed himself out of the car.

After paying, he thanked Gerald for the ride, and hastily strode out in the mist. All the while looking rather peculiar with his two bags of cement propped up under his arms.

Gerald too, hurried on away from there.
Tomorrow he would apply for a vacation.

Hmm, not sure what I should think about it...
The sketch was really messy, but I liked it enough to try
and clean it up + colour it. There are more things wrong with it than I can count.
If anyone sees something terribly wrong, then by all means, tell me.
